see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe
you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' All Saints Church maintains a blood bank for members. Twice a year the Central Florida Blood Center brings their Bloodmobile to All Saints so parishioners can donate their blood and receive a free "mini" physical and cholesterol test. Be sure to contact Pastoral Care if you or a member of your family needs blood. Once a year homemade cookies are mailed to members who are away at school or with the military. Parishioners bake, wrap and pack cookies to mail. If cookies should be sent to someone in your family, please contact Pastoral Care with their names and addresses. Shop, prepare, deliver, and/or serve an evening meal on the third Tuesday of each month. Servers travel together by our church bus to downtown Orlando to provide a meal to approximately 225 homeless men, women and children. Join us in the church parking lot on the 3rd Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. or meet us there (639 W. Central Boulevard). All Saints volunteers travel in the church bus to serve lunch two weeks each year to hundreds of men and women from the streets of Orlando. Daily Bread is sponsored by the Christian Service Center. Women who participate in special training for and who are devoted to intercessory prayer, service and evangelism. Click here for the Daughters of the King web pages. Teams including men and women arrange and/or deliver flowers to shut-ins and hospital patients each week. Callers visit with and pray with parishioners who are in hospitals, nursing homes or health care facilities or who are homebound. Knitters and those who want to learn gather as a group every Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. to make shawls, hats or booties for people experiencing health concerns and nursing home residents. Knitters often work at home as well. Volunteers can help to provide meals to parishioners who are in need of temporary assistance because of illness, injury, or other need. Pastoral Care maintains an inventory of durable medical equipment for people to borrow. Items such as walkers, wheelchairs, portable commodes, canes, shower chairs, crutches, etc. are available to our parishioners and those from the community when they are on hand. Five teams of men and women transport parishioners to and from appointments with doctors, dentist, lawyers and other professionals as well as other necessary errands. This ministry is very important and necessary to members who do not drive. There is always a need for volunteers to help with this ministry. Saints Alive participants enjoy outings such as brunch, lunch, dinner, theatre, museums and other excursions simply for the fellowship and new experiences. The church bus provides transportation on these excursions. Specially trained Lay persons provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to another within our parish as well as in the community who is facing especially challenging times in his or her life. A group of men and women who offer bereavement ministry; "walking" with families at the time of death. Once the funeral service has been arranged with the clergy, the guild will take care of the details; seeing to it that the bulletins are printed for the service, flowers are arranged for the alter, the church is prepared by the Altar Guild and if desired, a reception is coordinated to follow the service. Several teams of cooks and servers plan and prepare the weekly Wednesday lunches for approximately fifty people. Working together on the meal provides a excellent opportunity for fellowship as well as service. It is usually a once a month commitment.
