El Hogar Home of
Love and Hope
Lent/Easter
The purpose of El Hogar is to provide a loving home and
education in a Christian environment for abandoned, orphaned and hopelessly poor
boys, enabling them to fulfill their ultimate potential as productive human
beings in Honduras. During Lent the children are given the name of
a boy to whom they write a letter and for whom they will pray throughout the
Lenten season. They also start a collection of needed items to be sent
after Easter; things like clothing, sports equipment, school supplies, and books
and videos in Spanish. The congregation is encouraged to donate items to
the collection.
Sponsorship of Luis
Once again this year the Sunday school outreach
program will continue to sponsor Luis Alejandro Ruiz Galeas at El Hogar. Luis
is eight years old and in the second grade. His favorite class is Social
Studies and he likes to play soccer. He is very grateful for the sponsorship and
commitment the All Saints Sunday school children have provided him.
By participating, you can make sure
Luis is properly fed, clothed, and educated. Most important, he will also be
learning how much he is loved by Jesus. Most of our students give $1.05
per month, but any pledge amount is welcome. The total cost for a boys room,
board, and education for the year is $1,500, but when our students come
together, its amazing the difference they can make in the life of one boy.
If you would like to become
involved in this years sponsorship of Luis please fill out the pledge form,
available in the Parish Office.
